
The wooden churches possess a unique charm. Despite the similarities in the construction techniques, they surprise with the diversity of forms and solutions. In Wielkopolska region more than two hundred of them survive, more than ten of them in the Zielonka Forest.
Route: Długa Goślina (0 km) – Tarnowo Pałuckie (36 km) – Skoki (24 km) – Rejowiec (7 km) – Kiszkowo (9 km) – Sławno (8 km) – Węglewo (10 km) and Wierzenica (22 km). The route is 116 km long.
It starts in Długa Goślina (in Poznań district), where the Saint Mary Magdalene"s Church is located.
Next, we leave for Tarnowo Pałuckie. It is located within the area of the Zielonka Forest, but taking this roundabout route we will see the unique gem of the oldest wooden church in Poland - the Saint Nicholas"s Church in Tarnowo Pałuckie. The church is only open to visitors with guides from the Regional Museum in Wągrowiec. Although the guide"s service is paid, it is well worth it to go and visit the church.
After the visit to Tarnowo Pałuckie we return to the Zielonka Forest. On return from Wągrowiec we go to Skoki and visit the Saint Nicholas the Bishop"s Church.
The next wooden tourist attraction on the sight-seeing route is the Sacred Heart Church in Rejowiec.
Then, we go to Kiszków, where the next monument is the Saint John the Baptist"s Church
In the village of Sławno we will see the Saint Rosalie"s Church functioning as a graveyard chapel.
We leave Sławno and go to Węglewo. The next point on out sight-seeing route is the Saint Catherine"s of Alexandria Church.
We leave Węglewo for Wierzenica. The last wooden temple on the proposed trip is the Saint Nicholas the Bishop"s Church.
