The county seat is located approx. 60 km south-west of Poznań, on the road to Leszno.
The church was built next to a hospital beyond the city walls in the latter half of the 15th century. It was redeveloped c. 1615-1620, destroyed in 1655 during the Swedish war and rebuilt at the end of the 17th century.
This is an orderly building with a closed triangular presbyterial component. Baroque statues of Christ on the Cross, Our Lady of Sorrows and St. John – dating from the 2nd quarter of the 17th century – have been placed on a colourful moulded beam from 1695. The baroque high altar is dated c. 1700 and has a sumptuous acanthus leaf decoration.
