DALEWO
A village in Śrem district (powiat), located 10 km south-west of Śrem.
The church was probably erected in the former half of 14th century, funded by the Benedictines from nearby Lubiń. Destroyed by a fire in 1603, it was rebuilt resulting from endeavours of the Lubiń abbot Stanisław Kiszewski and his followers. Unfortunately, the rebuilding entailed blurring of many of its original stylistic traits.
The church is a single-nave building with a slightly narrower rectangular presbytery. The temple’s interiors are sling-covered. The earliest item of its furnishings is a late-renaissance pulpit from 1st quarter of 17th century, featuring painted figures of the Four Evangelists. There are three baroque altars, the main one – compiled out of 17th/18th-century fragments – containing a painting titled Adoration of Our Lady with the Infant by St. Adalbert and St. Stanislaus, from 1st quarter of 17th c., with an 18th-century cloth made of silver.
