The county seat is located approx. 60 km south of Poznań, on the road from Jarocin to Leszno.
The temple was erected between 1418 and 1436 and extended in the 2nd half of the 15th century by the addition of a presbytery and aisles. The tower and the Chapel of St. Anne were added 1529-1531. The church was rebuilt in 1689 after being partially destroyed by fire in 1682. It is a three-nave, pseudo-hall building with a tower on the west side. The Chapel of St. Anne is on the south side of the presbytery and the south aisle has a vestibule from 1523 and a jewel box from 1645. The star vaults in the presbytery, aisles and chapels have been preserved and the furnishing is valuable. The baroque high altar (c. 1640) has a painting of Madonna and Child (c. 1683), a work of the Flemish school. There are late-renaissance stalls from the 2nd quarter of the 17th century to the left of the presbytery and late-Gothic stalls from 1514 to the right. Additionally, there is a baroque side altar from the 1st quarter of the 18th-century on the left, a late-renaissance side altar from the mid-17th century on the right, a baroque pulpit from the 1st half of the 18th century, and rococo benches, confessionals and baptismal font. The chapel has an early-baroque altar from 1648 with figures of saints and a late-Gothic sculpture of The Virgin and Child with St. Anne from c. 1510 in its middle field.
