Tarnowo-Pałuckie is a village located in Commune and County of Wągrowiec, ca. 6 km north-east of Wągrowiec.
The date the church was built is uncertain: former half of 15th or late 14th century is possible. A tower was added in probably mid-18th c. The church has seen several renovations and refurbishments (last in 1994–2002).
Log construction and planking have been applied to this orientated, one-nave church with a straight-end presbytery. A sacristy is adjacent thereto, to the north. By the nave, on the southern side, is a small porch; to the west is a tower whose construction is post (column)-based, with a porch in the basement. The roofs are shingle-covered. There is a ceiling in the nave, and a false barrel vault in the presbytery.
The walls of the nave and presbytery as well as the ceilings are covered with a late-renaissance polychrome dated ca. 1639 and signed ‘JPW’, which means it is a work of Walenty Podczosik of Kcynia.
The main altar, late-renaissance and dating to 1st quarter of 17th century, features an Assumption of Our Lady painting. Baroque side altars from 17th/18th century display paintings of St. Nicholas and St. Margaret. The rood beam features a crucifix and figures of Mary and St. John, cut out from boards and stained.
