Wolsztyn is a county town, located ca. 80 km south-west of Poznań. The church is located not far from the Market square, in Kościelna Street.
Designed probably by Antoni Hoene, it was built in 1767–1779.
It is a three-nave hall-like edifice, with an obelisk-crowned turret in the façade. The interior’s sail vault is adorned with a polychrome – initially, a rococo-styled one, first painted in 1778 and subsequently repainted several times. The stucco decorations are probably the work of Augustyn Schöps’s atelier. The outfit, featuring rococo as well as Louis-XVI motifs, dates to the years 1780–1787, including a.o. six altars, the main one featuring an icon of Our Lady Immaculate Virgin in a baroque silver frock; the pulpit with a sculpture of Christ the King on the canopy and a baptismal font with a sculpted scene of the Baptism of Christ.
A late-baroque belfry, built in 18th century, stands near the church.
