WRZEŚNIA
A county town, situated ca. 45 km east of Poznań.
The chapel is situated in the former suburban area of Lipówka, on the bank of a reservoir damming up the waters of Wrześnica stream.
Erected in 1674, the chapel was restored at the end of 18th century upon Marceli Poniński’s foundation. Legend has it that the chapel’s emergence was owed to a miraculous spring once-existing to the chapel’s north-east, which is said to have later on lost its healing power.
The chapel has a log structure and is timbered. Orientated, it is built on a rectangular trilaterally-enclosed plan. It is covered by multi-hipped roof, with quite a protruding shingles-covered canopy. The ridge features an ave-bell turret with a sheet-metal cupola. The walls and the ceiling feature a polychrome dating to a period of 1850–1875.
The outfit is from the turn of 18th century. The main altar has a Crucifixion painting, featuring a kneeling figure of the founder, probably, the Rev. Stanisław Bielawski. The side altars contain paintings of St. Roch and St. Rosalia.
