Sieraków, a town in the Międzychód-Sieraków Lake District, part of the Międzychód District (powiat), is situated ca. 75 km north-west of Poznań.
The Opaliński Castle Museum in Sieraków has been in operation since 1995, housed at the now-rebuilt southern wing of a former castle whose origins date back to the late 14th century. The exhibition presents the history of Sieraków Land, from the earliest period, based on archaeological exhibits, till our time. Special attention is deserved by the Opaliński family sarcophaguses, discovered in 1991 in the fomer Bernardine church’s crypt.
