SZRENIAWA
Szreniawa is a locality in the Poznań District (powiat), situated ca. 16 km north-west of Poznań.
The display is housed in a historical manor built in 1852 and is moreover spread across a total of thirteen pavilions and the Museum Park spanning a several hectares’ area. The exhibits on display evidence the history of agriculture and the produce processing industry as well as the social culture of local rural areas.
The permanent exhibition embraces dozen-or-so sections illustrating the changes agriculture has to date been through. The husbandry culture and animal rearing/raising/breeding collections are particularly abounding in exhibits. You can trace and evaluate the craftsmanship’s historic itinerary visiting the rich display of unique crafts-related implements of: pottery/earthenware, carpentry, saddler’s/leather-worker’s, cooper’s, blacksmithery, weaving, tanning. As for the processing and agri-food industry section, cereal processing, bakery, dairying, distillery and edible-oil industry.
Steam engines, a collection of steam tractors as well as tractors from the late 19th/early 20 century are worth paying attention to, among the historic farming technology objects. The Museum has its branches at Uzarzewo, Poznań District (The Nature and Hunting Museum), Nowy-Tomyśl (The Wickerworking and Hop-Growing Museum) and in Jaracz, Oborniki District (Museum of Milling and Water Equipment of Rural Industry) as well as an Ethnographic Outlet at Rogierówko, Poznań District.
